First Day in South Korea

A very wet day in Busan today, I was told it was a typhoon. If it was it was a very small one because it was just like a very rainy and windy day in the UK that did not stop all day.

My plan for the day was to walk about and explore the city and the beaches, this very quickly became a non starter.

So I decided to visit the Busan Cinema Centre which is an amazing piece of architecture. Its really modern and looks fantastic, even in the rain. It has the worlds longest cantilever roof which houses a cinema underneath it.

From here I looked around the worlds largest department store called Shinsegae Centumcity which has an ice rink, food hall, a cinema, an art gallery, a dinosaur land and more.

It was then back out in to the rain to the Busan Museum of Art which was pretty disappointing because they only had two small rooms of art and was in the process of changing their main exhibition. It had took me a while to find and I was drenched so I was still wet when I had to head back out to Shinsegae Centumcity for lunch and to watch a film in the hope of drying off before going back to the hostel for the evening. I watched ‘Mission Impossible Rouge Nation’ which I thoroughly enjoyed not only because its a good film but also because it was based in London and I enjoyed seeing Old Blighty in techno-vision.

The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
