From Yangshuo to Guilin

After staying in Yangshuo for 4 days I chose to head to Shanghai to do some volunteering. So although I loved my stay I had to leave to head back to Guilin on the bus.

This journey was much less eventful than it the opposite was, mainly because I had a plan and now roughly knew what to do.

The most difficult part was finding the hostel, the app I used stated it was in a certain place around 1.3km from the bus station, though when I got there it most definitely was not there. I looked and explored and asked for about half an hour or so. The best option for me was to get online by finding a coffee shop. There were none, I looked for another half and hour of so. I looked back on the app to see if there were any more clues. When I searched this time there were two entries for Wada, not wanting to get me hopes up I trekked with all my travelling equipment a further kilometre and found, to my delight, the hostel. It was very hot and humid and my t-shirt was saturated and I needed a shower.

I needed to be in Shanghai for a 10 am Saturday morning for a volunteer induction meaning I had to move my last night at Wada in Yangshuo to their sister hostel in Guilin. My train from Guilin leaves early on Thursday morning and I would not make it in time from Yangshuo so one night in Guilin, 22 hours on an overnight train and I will be in Shanghai very early on the Friday morning. Meaning I will have time to orientate myself before I can book in my hostel at 2pm.

The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
