Great Design Stories Travel Information

Last Day in St Petersburg

This evening, very near midnight, I catch an overnight train to Moscow arriving at 7:55am. So this morning I thought I would go for an early morning stroll prior to checking out and going to a hostel for the rest of the day to work on a website.

My walk was quite interesting, I saw things that I had not seen before, perhaps because I explored in the morning instead of the afternoon.

I found a park which had a feature which the health and safety executive in the UK most definitely would not have allowed. Check out the open flame in the photos above.

I found a clever logo for a wine shop which when on sliding doors removes the cork from the bottle.

I spotted some old Russian cars which you would expect to more of, but don’t 🙂

What I have learnt:

  1. Explore at different times of the day

The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
