This morning I woke early and decided to go for a stroll upto the area where the temple are, however on the was I spotted a riverside walk which I did instead.
It was relaxing and there many bird swooping and paddling as I walked along.
The last few days I have been relaxing in Kyoto, sitting in a coffee shop looking at the view and the world go by, completing an online course, as well as reading an interesting book about Sumo. I think I class myself as a Sumo fan now, I would definitely watch it again. One part of the book made me chuckle, if children in Sumo stables did not make the weight they sometimes went on to become referees instead of wrestlers. I think if I had grown up in Japan I would have had to be a referee!
Today I catch the Bullet train from Kyoto to Hiroshima where I stay for a few days, I think it will be a time for reflection and thought. Speaking to a french girl in the hostel who arrived from Hiroshima she also recommended a trip to a little island near by called Miyajhima. So I will visit that too.
