Day 2 in Quebec City

This morning I arose and went for a walk after I stopped for a quick breakfast in McDonalds. I had a Crepe McMuffin with Maple Syrup, Egg and Cheese.

On the walk I saw some very festive looking themes, I could imagine a similar image appearing on a Christmas card.

Last night I got chatting to a very friendly guy, also called Mark, from Germany but has been studying in Ottawa for the last 4 months. He introduced me to his favourite patisserie in Quebec called ‘Paillard’ and I have to say it was a great find with some amazing pastries all cooked at the shop. If you go to Quebec you must visit and try from their vast selection.

After checking out from the hotel I walked past Paillards and spotted Mark in their once again. I joined him for a coffee, before we both decided to catch the ferry to a little island across River Lawrence, there is nothing to really explore on the island but you do get good views of Upper and Lower Quebec from the boat.

Once back on dry land in Quebec we wandered back through lower Quebec to the christmas market which was mainly food based, but still interesting because it had such a relaxed atmosphere.

We then went our separate ways because I headed to get my bag from the hostel ready to catch my bus back to Montreal later in the afternoon.

Just as I was about to leave the hostel Mark returned to pick up his backpack before catching a lift back to Ottawa. As we both left the hostel we agreed we had time for one more stop in “Paillard” which we did.

The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
