Manila to Boracay

A couple of days ago I caught a very early 7am flight, I had to be at the airport for 4am, from Manila to Boracay to meet me friend Dennis.

The plane was a propellor type that did not hold many people, which was pretty cool.

Once it landed at Caticlan airport I had to get a trike to the jetty where I needed to catch a boat across to Boracay. Before I could get on the boat I needed to buy my ticket, oh and the terminal fee AND the Environmental Fee which all together cost me 200 pesos (£3). I am not sure why I could not buy one ticket at one counter to cover all of these tickets but I needed to go to separate ones.

Once I had the right tickets it was a simple crossing to the island where I needed to fill in an arrival document and then I was free to wait for Dennis, we had arranged to meet at 9am and I’d arrived at 8:30am.

After settling in to my room I went for a look around and remembered just how beautiful this island is. I say remembered because I came here 10years with Dennis. The main difference now is that is much more developed with big brands. Though, for me, that is good because it is these places that have decent internet. Everywhere else has been very slow and poor so far. With views like those above I guess I should be marvelling at them instead of looking at my laptop :-), But hey I like working on my laptop and looking up at the amazing sights.

Tomorrow I start my scuba diving training which fingers crossed results in me gaining my PADI qualification to allow me to SCUBA dive anywhere in the world.

The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
