For the first four nights I slept at the Nevsky Group Aster Hotel which had an excellent location. I walked everywhere and saw most of the city.
The bed was comfortable with 2 big pillows.
My checkout time was midday but my train did not leave until 23:55. I asked to extend my checkout time. They stated it would cost £65.
I love there little touch of the signs underneath the bed when I did the check before I left.
I chose not to take their offer and booked my self in the £5 a night Mozaika Hostel but not sleep there, use it as a day base because it was so close to the train station for my overnight train to Moscow. This was one of the best decisions I made. It was a fantastic place, so friendly, with a great buzzing atmosphere and confirmed to me that this is a better way for me to travel than staying in hotels.
