For the first 4 nights in Shanghai I stayed in the Blue Mountain Youth Hostel. On the most part is was a good stay, the people there were OK the staff were helpful but not over the top helpful. It was just an OK hostel.
It was let down badly by not having any wifi in the rooms, which most hostels have. Also for most of the day the internet is painfully slow and temperamental with regards to connecting to the VPN so I could use Gmail. As long as I got up at around 6:30am I had a good connection. For this reason I am moving to another hostel later today for the rest of my time in Shanghai.
In the reviews it stated that the mattresses were thin making the bed quite hard, I would agree with this however I slept OK.
The areas of life I am most interested in are great design, the golden ratio, minimalism, Pareidolia (faces in everyday objects), micro living and finally I will be searching for remarkable human beings who use the power of their mind to achieve amazing effects.
