This train journey was amazing! It is definitely one of the best experiences I have had on my travels.
There was lots of interesting people to talk to and the train and views were great. The food was really nice too, I had a three course meal each night. One passenger was telling me how this train journey is only second to the Orient Express and I can believe that.
One cool feature they have on this cross country VIA train journey is the Musician Onboard scheme, where accomplished musicians audition to be on the program and once accepted they can travel, and eat, for free as long as they perform for the other passengers twice a day, each of the 4 days, for one hour. For this journey we had a band called ‘Corinna Rose‘ who as good as they were quirky, I really liked their music. This scheme is a Win – Win – Win for everyone involved.
I would, given the chance, do this journey again at a different time of year to see it again during another Season.
